The power within...

Finally, my dad got to change our desktop monitor from our old bulky Samsung monitor to a BenQ 19" flat screen monitor while we were in Low Yat. Anti-radiation and it's pretty clear. Turns out now, that Low Yat has two or more IT Hypermarket stores. Pretty neat, good deals and all. And the price for CPU's these days are pretty reasonable considering the specifications they have now compared to the prices back then. Even setting up a budget custom desktop is better, 30% cheaper I suppose.

*To readers who have read this post earlier, price revised. Credits to my friend, MXV*

Core 2 Duo compatible motherboard- RM280
Core 2 Duo Processor-RM370+
Nvidia Geforce 8-400+
1GB DDR2 RAM-RM50
19" monitor-Rm570
Casing-Free
DVD driver x20-RM195
160gb Hard Drive-RM120
Grand Total: roughly around RM1415 (Before discount and without monitor)
With Monitor cost-RM1985

Ain't that bad (it was bad before, from my miscalculations) of a deal compared to the retail ready-made computers that are displayed in stores. But I guess it offers more spending power to gamers and recording artists. Even after investing recording gear for digital music production work, it's still a valuable deal and maximum utility would last for years to come. If only AMD did not have their quick heating processor problem (This may be a rumor), it could save us money. But hopefully those computer parts would come cheaper in years to come...wouldn't it be convenient?

Turns out not bad? Dude.. That price list is REALLY BAD.. I've got mine for RM 1600, and almost all of my specs are double of what you've stated. 2GB RAM at RM 100.. Processor at RM 370.. Yeah, C2D, top of the line. Motherboard, RM280+. Casing, FREE. DVD-RW at only RM 195. My graphic card costs a lot, almost half the price of the whole damn thing. Hard drive, 160 GB at RM 120.. And the most expensive shit in my PC, the graphics card. RM 400+, roughly. Yes, 512MB,Vista supported. And that price, was about a year + ago. Be smart, dude. Check around with your friends & different shops. Some shops are plain chop-dicks. The only thing that is cheap for me, in ur list is the monitor, at RM570. Nice price. LoL.

Owh, almost forgot.. There is no such thing as AMD processor heating up quickly. It's just a brand apart from Intel. No matter what the salesperson tells you about AMD heating up quickly, that is certainly not true. Plain hoaxes made up to increase the sales & popularity of Intel processors. If AMD does heat up that easily, it would be a major problem & tBun networks, the cyber cafe chain wouldnt even use AMD to power their PCs. Think about it, PCs at cyber cafes are on for 24/7, if AMD processors were that easy to overheat, wouldnt it already burn down the whole Wangsa Maju tBun by now? 75% of the PCs in tBun uses AMD,that, I can assure you. One thing that is true; AMD supports graphic cards better than Intel does. Those salesperson in LowYat, they only tell u what they've HEARD, not what they KNOW. Once I helped my fren to buy a laptop, I asked about AMD's cache, the salesman doesnt even know how to spell cache. In turn, he was asking me what in the blue hell is cache & I'd have to explain it to him 1 by 1.

Wah, I guess not all IT people are that literate enough to explain TRUE details, and yeah..I agree with you, most cyber cafes use AMD and operated 24/7, now that I've come to realize it...

Good. Then don't just listen to them; do some research on ur own n u'll start to realise that sometimes, not everybody can be trusted that easily. Heh.
